The story of Alex and Penelope commences with instant mutual attraction, builds on elements of seduction, examines personal motivation, delves into self-determination, and concludes with the actualization of true love. As with all Linzi Basset stories, Claimed Bride is filled with situations which are innately more complex than what they appear to be on the surface. For example in order to save the reputation of his company, Alex ‘s initial motivation is the extraction of information from Penny with regard to her ex-husbands nefarious actions; however, he quickly realizes that he desires more from Penny and he sets out to use he skills of persuasion and sexual domination to claim his bride. Penny frustrated with the manipulation of the truth by her ex-husband and faced with the limitations his death has cased in uncovering the truth faces the realization that Alex may be her only hope in unraveling the distortions and clearing her name. Ultimately, despite her initial reservations, Penny enters into an agreement with Alex due to a need for self-preservation and protection. While the book is classified a romantic suspense, I found the story to focus by and large on the nuances that occur in the evolution of a relationship. I absolutely loved the insightful writing style that allowed for an authentic perspective with regard to the expression of thoughts, feelings and emotions by the characters. I was drawn into the story from the onset and immersed in Alex and Penny’s world until the very end. Claimed Bride is a marvelous first book in what is sure to be another extraordinary series from Linzi Basset!

A definitely must read book from Ms. Basset, can't wait for more from the series. Steamy alpha male Alexander is to Penelope. Great chemistry between them, and she's a real fire cracker. If you love possessive alpha male stories this book is for you!
Love this book, it's a wonderful way to start this new series. We meet Alex and Penny within Claimed Bride. The road they travel towards each other is fast paced, intriguing, and passionate, so very passionate. I loved the witty banter throughout the book. Its another home run for the author for sure.
Alex & Penny's story is passionate to say the least. Linzi Basset weaves a tale of love and suspense that will captivate you from the first page. I couldn't put this one down and can not wait to see what she does with the rest of the series. Alex & Penny's chemistry is off the charts and leads to some absolutely sizzling scenes. Add to that her best friend Amber and they make for a sassy and hilarious duo. Another must read!

Claimed Bride is HOT, as anybody would expect from Linzi Basset. It's also smart, suspenseful, and ultimately heart-warming. I'm on to Captured Bride, the next in the series.

Loved it!! I hope we will have more books from Alex friends. His 2 best friends need love also. I give this book 5 stars. If you have never read any if Linz books you need to get a set they will make you want to read them all. I started with Club Alpha Cove. I have all her books and to me they are all 5 stars!!!
